From the webmaster:
1988
I had just seen
magic during the Christmas holidays: my ultimate hero (He-Man)
transposed into the "real world". Little did I know
that my life had just been marked forever. It's on a Saturday,
February 27th, that I dugg the official poster magazine of Masters
Of The Universe, where I would meet my future idol and role
model: Dolph Lundgren. His eyes betrayed some vulnerability,
his personality and interests showed intriguing similarity to
mine. He would become another part of me, a super alter-ego,
a brother, a father, a friend and a mentor. My life would now
be lead under the sign of Cinema, and the cult of Dolph Lundgren...
1998.
I'm a freshman
as a film student at the university of Paris1, Pantheon-Sorbonne.
Titanic had exploded the worldwide box-office, I had just
finished a dreamlike experimental short film; John Woo's Blackjack
had just hit the US video shelves. I was eagerly waiting for
it (as much as The Minion, and another gem I knew almost
nothing about called Sweepers, that I would both have
to wait for another year).
On May 23rd,
"DOLPH The Definitve Guide" was launched.
Finally a thorough
website about Dolph Lundgren was made and confirmed that no,
I wasn't the only fan on the planet! This made my day when I
discovered it. I was still fairly new to the internet, getting
connected could be a hassle and be expensive.
2002.
I launch my own
"DOLPH-IN The Unknown Dolph Lundgren", site dedicated
to unfinished and in development projects, deleted scenes, alternate
versions and any other rare info(s).
January 1,
2004.
Asked by its
founder if I could take over the site, I merged "The Definitive
Guide" and "Dolph-in" to form "The Ultimate
Guide". Incidentaly, the official Dolph Lundgren website
is launched just a day before.
2008.
In contact with
Sony Pictures HE to promote the release of "Missionary Man",
their publicist arrange a 15 mins press junket interview with
DOLPH LUNDGREN HIMSELF.
Barely a couple
of months later I fly to Sofia to visit the set of "Direct
Contact" and meet Dolph in person!
So hopefully now the
website will evolve in new directions, with Dolph Lundgren's
own input!
Stay tuned... will
keep you informed as it happens...!

- From BDW, original site webmaster:
-
- "I still
remember how mesmerized I was when I first saw "Rocky IV"
on the big screen in my small Canadian hometown, and how larger
than life Dolph seemed in that film, and this fascination grew
into true admiration as I watched all of his subsequent movies
over the years. After a weekend Dolph-athon in which I rented
10 of his films and watched them all back-to-back, I decided
to create "DOLPH: The Definitive Guide" as a tribute
to this true cinematic icon. Little did I know that this little
web site created over a weekend would grow to welcome hundreds
of thousands of visitors over the years, all with the same admiration
for Dolph.
-
- I truly enjoyed
the years I put into the site, and am so glad to see the site
taken to new heights under the direction of its new webmaster.
Congratulations to all of us for building up such a grassroots
tribute to such a fine actor and truly good man, Mr. Dolph Lundgren."
